Faith Makes Us Do Crazy Things

This Web page went live on September 10, 2015. I will say I have not had the interest I hoped I’d have. I will also say I have not dedicated as much time to writing and sharing on this Web page as I had planned. For that reason, I have made a decision: I am selling my personal business.

For those who are reading this and are writers, please don’t interpret my decision to mean you should quit your full time job to dedicate your entire being to writing. This is the right decision for ME; it may not be for everyone. And honestly, it’s not very smart. It’s scary.

I have had my business for 12 years. For more than a decade it has been a security blanket. A guaranteed income. A way to provide employment and a service to the community. It is crazy that I have made this decision! Absolutely crazy!! But this is where my heart is leading me. I don’t know if choosing to invest my time in working on and finishing this book will increase interest or grow a fan base, but – as you know if you’ve read my other posts – it doesn’t matter. Not really. While I need people to want to read these posts and follow along on the journey of publication so the book can come to fruition, what I need even more is to know I am doing the task I was born to do; and that means walking away from what is comfortable and safe.

Journalist and author J.J. Bell wrote “We can’t be afraid of change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea. Holding onto something that is good for you now, may be the very reason why you don’t have something better.”

So . . . here’s to trusting God, listening to my heart and following my desires. Here’s to the journey.
